Petronio Morillo
Writer, Coach, and Friend

“This book couldn’t have come at a better time. The pressure on kids has never been higher, and parents often don’t realize how much their energy affects the game. Petronio Morillo reminds us what youth sports are supposed to be about—growth, joy, teamwork, and most importantly FUN.”
“I wish I could hand this book to every parent on my sideline. It’s not judgmental—it’s eye-opening. Petronio Morillo helps parents understand how their emotions affect their kids in ways they may never realize. Keep It Between the Lines is refreshing, hopeful, and long overdue for the youth sports community.”
"Petronio has written an honest and no-nonsense guide for parents navigating the world of youth sports. Keep It Between The Lines is refreshingly grounded and full of wisdom. We will highly recommend this book to all our families every season."
"Keep It Between The Lines cuts through the noise with clarity and heart—a must-read for any parent who wants to support their child without losing sight of their own perspective!"
“Every season, I get the privilege to meet hundreds of wonderful soccer parents who truly want the best for their kids but get caught up in the competition and pressure to win or be the best. This book helps them step back and see things clearly, offering a different perspective. Keep It Between the Lines is honest, timely, compassionate, and real—it reminds us that youth sports are for the children, and that they should build confidence and joy, not anxiety. I wish every parent could read this before submerging themselves into youth sports of any level.”
"Keep It Between the Lines is more than a book about youth sports — it’s a mirror for every parent, coach, and leader who cares about kids. Petronio captures the heart of what truly matters: joy, growth, and perspective. Every academy, every sideline, and every family needs this message.”

Some of my favorite books.
I love stories. I will never forget getting lost with a pet raccoon named Rascal or hunting the Ozarks with Little Ann and Old Dan. I felt the pain of Ponyboy and the triumph of Rocky.
As I grew older, I found knowledge as well as escape.
A coach taught me about teamwork and sacrifice. I learned about the horrors of war and the evil within men. I was profoundly affected by the boys trapped on that island and how they turned on each other in Lord of the Flies. I was drawn into the world of hobbits, elves, and dwarves. During each experience, I found hope, love, and beauty in the stories I loved. I found, what I needed in each story. There is no better way to grow and preserve knowledge, than writing it down so others may share it.

Telling stories is a time-honored passion.
There is no better way of passing along information and wisdom than a good story. I have always loved stories. Books, movies, listening to someone tell a story, it doesn't matter. A wonderful story can transport you into a make-believe world where you can experience anything. Stories can make us feel alive. We can be part of a world different than our own. There is no better life pursuit than speaking and writing about life so that we may all share in your knowledge. I hope that your lives have beautiful stories and that you share them.
My next project will be the first book in my "Advice From a Friend Series." The books in this series will be short but offer readers advice, experience, and entertainment. I'm hoping the first of these books will be ready in 2025.
Life is full of difficult choices. We all need good people to stand with us. Two minds are always better than one and I am always looking for new friends. We are all in this together so I will do my best to get back to you soon!
I am working on building a foundation called The Helpful Village. It will be a place that brings people together. A place where good people, overcome their differences and learn from each other. It will be a safe place and I will keep you all posted.
